2019: Where it started
Verifymy launched with age assurance: a range of methods that let adults prove their age quickly and safeguard children from age-restricted content, products and services.
Today, our age assurance solutions are independently certified to ISO/IEC 27566-1 and trusted by organisations worldwide across sectors including social media, online video gaming, e-commerce and adult platforms.
Pioneering email-based age checks
We pioneered a proprietary method that determines a user’s age from just an email address. It can use data a platform has already collected, so it runs in the background with no user interaction, minimising friction for users and businesses.
Email-based age checks have since been recognised by Ofcom as capable of being highly effective, and referenced by the Australian eSafety Commissioner and the New York Attorney General in their regulatory guidance.
Expanding into content moderation
Next came end-to-end identity verification, content moderation and consent management, preventing illegal content being published on user-generated content platforms.
Today, Verifymy is a broader online safety technology provider, helping platforms protect their users at every stage and safeguard children and society online.
