This Biometric Data Policy describes how Verifymy Limited and its suppliers use, store, and destroy biometric data obtained through the Verifymy age assurance solution. In this document, the terms “Verifymy” and “we” refer to Verifymy Limited and its suppliers.

The original English language version of this Privacy Policy may have been translated into other languages. Any translated version is a courtesy only and you cannot derive any rights from the translated version. In the event of a dispute about the contents or interpretation of this Privacy Policy or inconsistency between the English version and any other language version, the English language version to the extent permitted by law shall apply, prevail and be conclusive.

1. Facial Age Estimation

Verifymy acts as a supplier to clients who own or operate certain websites, platforms, or services you may interact with. As part of the age estimation process, Verifymy:

collects an image of you (a selfie);
processes the image, including by creating biometric scans of facial geometry (“face maps”), to estimate your age and to judge whether the image is of a live person or not;
permanently destroys the face maps right after that process;
stores the image for up to 28 days to allow Verifymy to audit it and any other submitted data that may be flagged as fraudulent or queried by the Verifymy client for which the verification was performed and to improve our services;
does not use your image for any other purposes.

We retain no identifying information from the age verification process when prohibited by jurisdictions that govern age verification for access to adult content.

During the brief time between creation and deletion of the face maps, we may transmit copies of the face maps to each other as part of the age estimation and liveness check.

2. ID scan + face match

Verifymy acts as a supplier to clients that own or operate certain websites, platforms, or services you may interact with. As part of the identity verification process, Verifymy:

collects an image of you (a selfie) and an image of your identity document;
processes the images, including by creating biometric scans of facial geometry from each one (“face maps”);
uses the face maps to compare the selfie image with the image in the identity document;
also uses the selfie image and its face map to judge if the selfie image is of a live person or not;
permanently destroys the face maps right after those checks;
may store the images for up to 28 days (except where prohibited by law as noted above) to allow Verifymy to audit these and any submitted data that may be flagged as fraudulent or queried by the Service (as part of that process, Verifymy may use the images to detect fraud by comparing them to other images submitted for this client) and to improve our services;
does not use your images for any other purposes.

3. Disclosures of Face Maps

During the brief time between creation and deletion of the face maps, Verifymy and its suppliers may disclose copies of the face maps to each other as part of the identity verification and liveness check.

4. Guidelines for Permanent Destruction of Face Maps

For both Facial Age Estimation and ID scan + face match, to select a method for permanently destroying the face maps, Verifymy will take into consideration (i) available technology, (ii) the nature of the data, and (iii) the nature of the systems in which the face maps are located.

5. More Information

If you do not complete the verification process, then we may still have performed an identity verification or liveness check (including the related face map activities), depending on the point at which you stopped the process.
